“Missing” $20 Billion: NNPC Audit Report Exposes Double Subsidy Payments on Kerosene & Petrol
Here are some excerpts of what the audit revealed, as reported by The cable;
SOURCE: THE CABLEThe PwC report, which was ordered released to the public by Jonathan on Monday, did not corroborate Sanusi’s figure but the findings were no less damning. PwC stated in the report that in the payment of subsidies for petrol (PMS) and kerosene (DPK) between January 2012 and July 2013, that there were gaps between what was paid and what was supposed to be paid.It put the difference at $980 million (about N195 billion) and alleged “duplicated discharges” in subsidy computation. “Our review of the subsidy documentation revealed that the subsidy due to NNPC between January 2012 and July 2013 on PMS and DPK import was $8.99billion compared to the $9.97 billion stated by the Reconciliation Committee.“The difference was due to the following: Exclusion of October 2011-December 2011 subsidy claims of $1.2billion. This does not relate to the review period of January 2012 to July 2013; $0.13billion increase in PMS subsidy claimed for the 19 months period, $0.09billion increase in DPK subsidy claimed for the 19 months period; duplicated discharges noted in subsidy computations “Our examination of the PMS and DPK import verified by PPPRA revealed that some discharges were apparently verified and subsidy advised to NNPC more than once,” the report said.PwC alleged “repeated subsidy” for PMS amounting to N3,709,879,190 ($23,954,796) and another “repeated subsidy” for DPK amounting to N6,169,502,266 ($39,836,652). It said the there was another $36.05 million “over-statement” in PPPRA’s PMS subsidy payment advice to NNPC

Boko Haram is "Fraud" -Gen. Buhari
This is the statement from president-elect Gen Buhari signed by his media aide, Shehu Garba.
"The worst thing anybody can do is to deny children access to education. That will be destructive to their lives and we are not going to allow that to happen," the President-elect assured.
He announce that his government will help the states to get more money to improve infrastructure by ensuring that all federally collectible revenues are paid directly into the federation account and each tier of government given its due share.
"As at now, the government does not even know how many revenue accounts it has. We will give all the tiers what is due to them but will hold them to be accountable as we would the federal government."
Buhari while describing Nassarawa state as his own "political laboratory", meaning the only CPC-controlled state of the 36 others adjudged the experiment as having been a success.
"From one state, I now have 22 political laboratories."
He commended Governor Al-Makura for surviving his many impeachment plots, saying "without Nassarawa, there would not have been an APC."

"The fraud called Boko Haram can be defeated by denying it a recruitment base," General Buhari told visiting leaders of Nassarawa State who came to congratulate him on his emergence as President-elect. No religion allows for the killing of children in school dormitory, in markets and places of worship. They have nothing to do with religion. They are terrorists and we are going to deal with them as they deal with terrorists anywhere," he announced.Buhari said he is greatly pained by the destruction of schools in the North-eastern part of the country, an action he said could deny thousands of youngsters access to education and a better future unless something was done urgently to avert this tragedy.

Buhari Fights back, Bars AIT from covering his activities
President-elect, Gen. Buhari may have just started a revenge mission on the African Independent Television, AIT when, Monday, the security men attached to him barred the station’s correspondent, Bebei from covering Buhari’s functions.
The directive was discreetly given to the correspondent by an official at the Defence House where the crew had gone to cover the visit of Cuban ambassador to Buhari.
It was learned that Buhari’s family had raised security issues which prompted the ban.
Confirming the issue, Buhari’s media aide, Mallam Garba Shehu said that such warning was given and may be revoked when some security and ethical issues were resolved with the station.
He said: “AIT has been asked to stay aside based on security and family concerns. In addition, Buhari has decided that they will have to resolve some issues relating to issues of standard and ethics.
“We will be talking with them to try and resolve the matter, but for now the station has been asked to stay aside, because like I said there are some family and security concerns. They have been asked to step down their coverage until we resolve the matter with them on ethics and standards.”
When asked whether he should be quoted, Shehu said, “yes you can quote me that I said we have asked them to step aside and that we are resolving the issues of ethics and standards with them.”
He, however, stated that the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, was not involved in the ban, saying the crew was at liberty to attend any official engagements of the President-elect.
Meanwhile, there were feelings that Buhari’s ban of AIT came against the background of the hate documentaries and campaign messages played on the station’s network during the polls.
