The reward is coming barely a month after Sergeant Mercy John had disarmed the two armed at Egbeda-Shasha by Tawakalitu Close, Orisunmibare Road in Lagos. It would be recalled that the incident happened on 10 February, 2015, at about 6pm when the robbers who rode on a motorcycle, had accosted John, brought out guns and ordered her to lie down. Apparently unaware of the fact that she was a police officer, the robbers thought they would have a field day but she gave them such a surprise by boldly grabbing the neck of one of the robbers and hit it on a nearby wall. With his gun falling out of his hand, John then grabbed it and turned it on the hoodlums who, sensing danger, fled the scene.
